As a member of the Specialist Advisory Team, you will be providing customer focused, specialist advice on a range of issues relating to Open Spaces and waste / recycling, with a particular emphasis on contract monitoring and management. Your role will involve monitoring waste and grounds maintenance contracts, building relationships with the contractors and ensuring that performance targets are met.
In addition, you will assist in the delivery and ongoing development of key projects, such as the implementation of a new grounds maintenance contract and the continued establishment of a new waste service, as well as dealing with customer complaints and enquiries on a day to day basis. You may also be required to represent the council at various meetings and committees.
You will be expected to provide guidance, mentoring and support to Case Workers, Neighbourhood Advisors and Customer Advisors as required.
With relevant industry experience, you will have an up to date knowledge of contract management. You will have excellent management and communication skills and be able to work on your own initiative. You will have the skills required to effectively network, consult and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders, including contractors, Cllrs and external partners. You will have experience of budget management, statistical reporting, working under pressure and meeting targets. You will be passionate about the environment and sustainability issues with the ability to grasp complex legislation and the capacity to explain, apply and monitor such legislation. You will have excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills and strong IT and administrative skills.
